Have fun!  My boys (Jungol) are playing at the Graveyard in Atlanta tonight but they don’t take the stage until midnight or later… we were planning to go but I’m afraid that’s just to late for me tonight.  Getting home @ 3 or 4 doesn’t work when I need to get up @ 8 tomorrow.  Yes, my age is showing!

Tonight! I thought about not going, but that just seems silly, now doesnt it?

So…

Potheads I know are the opposite of cold-hearted…. you included, Egirl.

einsteinsfangirl:

A guy I follow has been talking about the nature of potheads and claims that they detach from their emotional selves and become cold-hearted. As I like to believe that I am compassionate and empathic, but often like to think things that just aren’t true about myself…I out myself as a pot head (unfollow at will) and ask you who have known me around these parts for awhile, am I cold-hearted?

Take Up Your Mat and Walk - Deadman

I got to see Deadman about 7 years ago (or 5 or 6, who’s counting?) at a tiny little dive in San Marcos, Texas.  As I recall, he opened for the Dedringers back when they were still together.  That was a particularly enjoyable night in live music.

apparently it’s women’s empowerment week…

Don’t give up on making pie crust.  Homemade so blows away frozen.  My key ingredient is White Lily flour.  For one crust for your quiche, put 1 cup of flour into electric mixer bowl, add 1/3 cup + 1 Tbl Crisco, & pinch of salt.  Mix until it resembles small pea-size lumps.  Add 2-3 Tbls ice water.  Mix quickly just to bring it together.  Dump it on a flour-dusted counter.  Bring it together with your hands, form a flat round and then roll it out.  I find the only hard part that takes a little practice is putting in the right amount of water.  I like to add a little more than you think so the dough is wet enough to roll, you can always add more flour during the rolling process to get the right consistency.  Another key is making sure your rolling pin is covered with flour.  I also like to use my pastry scraper to lift the crust from the counter and roll it over the pin to transfer to the pie pan.  Good luck!!

youroldarchenemycatwoman:

i had my own “cat empowerment” moment just now while making quiche. for breakfast. it’s 1:52. i’ve been up since 9:30.

Beautiful!  Yes, I give a S**T.  That is the one thing in our house that hasn’t been redone.  Still the same ugly rectangular flourescent and textured ceiling.
nashvilleneedsmoremetaphors:

Painted kitchen ceiling, newly installed and functional lighting, and possibly the greatest “who gives a SHIT” post of all time. Happy new year. Off to Kentucky to celebrate more Christmas…what?
