Been cookin’ up a storm
I have been loving my time off work. It has given me time to cook and bake all my specialties. The best part is pleasing my family and friends with some goodies they don’t get to enjoy very often. Here are some of the things that have come from kitchen the last week:
Christmas Dinner: Prime Rib; Au Gratin Potatoes; Roasted Brussel Sprouts; Spring Mix Greens w/ Granny Smith Apples, Dried Cranberries, Walnuts, Gorgonzola; “Paris Brest” for dessert (it’s a big cream puff shaped like a wreath filled with whipped cream & raspberries)
Hubby’s bday on the 26th: used the leftover prime rib to make the most awesome beef vegetable soup & little sandwiches (french bread buttered on the outside, horseradish on inside, meat, gorgonzola; put on baking sheet, cover lightly with foil, bake 350 for 20 mins — yum!!)
Caramel Corn — put in pretty cellophane bags with ribbon & delivered to all my friends’ homes. They loved the surprise hanging on their doorknobs.
Croissants filled with Crab & Cream Cheese — in the process of making now for party tonight.
Yet to come…. Fajitas for lunch today. Friends for dinner on Sunday - we’ll have smoked pork butt, baked mac’n cheese, peanut butter pie (kids’ LOVE this!).
And still more to look forward to…. hubby got me the pasta attachment for my Kitchen Aid and boys’ gave me David Rocco’s cookbook. Can’t wait to make fresh pasta!
